Golf Carts
While many people think that golf isn’t really golf unless you walk the course, the reality is that some people just can’t do that. That’s where golf carts come in handy.
The new golf carts that are out today really can make golf a little more enjoyable. Besides not having to haul your golf bag around with you, the golf cart can also help you avoid fatigue and carry along a cooler of snacks, soda, or beer along with you if that’s what you like to do when you golf. You can also get a good rest on a hot day when you use a golf cart to navigate the course.
There are basically three big golf cart manufacturers that dominate the golf cart market:
* Yamaha
* EZ Go
* Club Car
Some golf carts are powered with small gas engines while others are electrically powered. The electric golf carts were the first mass-produced electric vehicles for private consumer use. Modern golf carts may have car-like styling despite being no bigger than a traditional golf cart. Accessories such as audio entertainment systems, custom wheels, and custom body panels in an assortment of colors are now being offered as choices for the personal golf cart.
Golf carts aren’t just used on the golf course. Some small communities or neighborhoods will use a golf cart where their lack of pollutants, lack of noise, and safety for pedestrians and other cars are beneficial. While purpose-built for general transportation, these are called Neighborhood Electric Vehicles and they have various operating limitations such as top speed and heavy regulation on street use. They do resemble traditional golf carts in style, but some are enclosed to accommodate for use in all types of weather.
There is a huge market for aftermarket parts on golf carts. Each major manufacturing company has their own line of aftermarket parts to enhance off-road capabilities. Because golf carts can have a long life, people often buy used golf carts making these aftermarket parts very valuable to people who need to fix broken parts of their golf cart.
Golf carts are considered by many golfers to be an essential part of the golf game. Others just think the golf cart make a golf course more dangerous. Either way, the truth is golf carts can really help make the game more enjoyable by leaps and bounds.
To your golfing success...cart or no cart

Golf Beginners - Keep These Things In Your Golf Bag
Golf - Beginner Basics II What to keep in your golf bag.
There are many golf bags available, some designed for fashion, some for utility and some that combine both features. There are big bags, bigger bags and bags so big that they would keep everything you need for a long weekend vacation in one of the side pockets!
Generally speaking, you need a bag just large enough to hold your clubs, extra balls, your glove, tees, car keys, extra pencils, ball markers, a ball retriever, sunscreen, a windbreaker and a large umbrella.
It is also a good idea to have a packet of tissues, a band-aid or two, and if you play courses where insects are a problem, a can of bug repellent comes in very handy.
A small pack of baby wipes also come in very handy; in your bag they get warmed by the heat, so when you get sweaty or a sand trap covered you with sand, a nice warm wipe can be very refreshing.
If you happen to be allergic to bees, hornets and wasps, an Epipen is an important addition to your bag. If you are also hypoglycemic carry Lifesavers, which have to be replaced several times throughout the year because they tend to melt.
One item that doesn’t need to be in your golf bag is your cell phone. If you must carry it, turn off the ringer as a courtesy to other players. If you must use it, be aware of others who might be taking a swing or putting their ball. Be considerate!
Having these items in your golf bag should provide everything you will need, even in a minor emergency (like a blister) or a major inconvenience, like a sudden rainstorm. Being prepared makes the game a great deal more fun.
To your golfing success

Golf Channel
With the ever-rising popularity of the game of golf, mainstream television decided they needed to cash in on the golf craze and founded The Golf Channel. The history of this cable phenomenon is really a storied one.
In 1990, cable and cellular entrepreneur Joseph Gibbs of Birmingham, Alabama, offered to host a professional golfer for the 1990 PGA Championship. Mr. Gibbs was ecstatic to learn he would be hosting Arnold and Winnie Palmer during the week of the tournament. A friendship was instantly born and as the friendship blossomed so did the discussion of a 24-hour cable network devoted entirely to golf.
After conducting a Gallup survey to determine public interest, Joe Gibbs was pleased to realize that there was a strong interest for a golf channel among the general public. The successful entrepreneur and the golf legend were convince that The Golf Channel would flourish with offerings for the golf-loving viewer.
By 1995, the new corporation had raised over $80 million to finance and launch The Golf Channel. It debuted with less than 1,000 cable subscribers. The Golf Channel’s first live televised tournament was the Dubai Desert Classic which debuted on January 19, 1995.
Since then, The Golf Channel has grown by leaps and bounds in popularity. Many cable and satellite dish systems now carry The Golf Channel as part of their regular lineup of channels. It is now broadcast in Japan and Canada and in 1999, reached a “break even” status on their financial statements.
Today, The Golf Channel is considered the place to go for golf news and programming. They have a daily golf news show called “Golf Central” along with “College Central” which is dedicated to college golf. They air highlight shows of past tournaments and have many programs with professionals handing out golf tips to the eager viewer.
Not to be left behind with the reality TV phenomenon, The Golf Channel has joined in with their reality-based program called “The Big Break”. This program was designed to help aspiring professionals gain exemptions into PGA Tour and LPGA events. It has proven to be wildly successful.
In 2005, The Golf Channel helped set up a special match play event called Big Stakes Golf, in which teams of two paid a $100,000 entry fee to play in a special tournament where the winning team split a $3,000,000 first-place prize, the largest in golf history. In the end, mini-tour professionals Garth Mulroy and David Ping won the grand prize.
Two guys had a dream – one with business savvy, and one with golf savvy – and when The Golf Channel was born, that dream became a reality. Many households depend on The Golf Channel for their daily golf news and for those living in the northern climate where the winter snow has covered the golf courses and a golf game is a distant memory, the Golf Channel can keep their minds focused on how they can be better next year. Or they can plan their winter vacation and choose which courses they would like to play.
Happy golfing and Merry Christmas - may you find the clubs of your dreams under your tree this year.

Training Aids
It is an unending cycle for golfers to constantly try new training aids in a bid to improve their swing and putting skills. There are innumerable trainers available and advertised in golfing magazines and on the Internet. But, the key is to find the best golf trainer that can actually help you to improve your game and hence your scores.
One of the simplest trainers is the weighted golf club. The additional weight of the club not only provides additional exercise to the shoulders and other related muscles, but also provides increased momentum during the strike. You can also improve your swing technique, including your back-swing and your downswing. The weighted club will also enable you to hit the ball farther without straining your back. Once your muscles get accustomed to the additional weight, then you will be able to work the same wonders with your regular club.
Another trainer that could specifically help your swing is the golf swing plane trainer. This is a large contraption that is usually circular and is made of round PVC pipes. These pipes are assembled at an angle to your body and help you by guiding your club along its swing path. Many golf ranges have also installed these trainers to guide their members. The golf swing plane trainer is specifically used to improve your swing plane and path. Some golf swing plane trainers are also available with rubber bands that provide resistance, when hooked up with your arms. These bands provide the vital exercise that is needed to improve your shoulder, back and arm muscles.
A golf club with a hinge near the head or the grip is another trainer that can help in improving your swing. This club will teach you, on how to maintain a fluid motion and also on the correct angle, when you swing. You can also hit the balls with this club and the beauty of this invention is that it provides you with instant feedback every time you take a swing. These clubs are sold with an accompanying instructional video, in order for you to correctly use the club.
Along with the mechanical trainers, the market is also awash with hi-tech laser trainers that use one or two lasers to guide you on the correct plane of your club and the path that needs to be followed for that perfect swing. A training video and a training mat that can be used for putting and even for long shots too accompany these. These lasers are fitted near the grip of your club, in order to track your swing motion.
A costlier hi-tech trainer uses the combination of a high-speed camera linked with a computer. In this method, you will need to hook up the camera with your computer and load the software. The camera will follow your entire swing action, feed the photos or video to the computer, which will then analyze your action and display the errors that you have committed along with the right method that you need, in order to improve. Even though this method is quite costly, it can provide you with visual proof and also guide you visually, in order to improve.
The best way to find the best golf trainer that could suit your playing style is to first try them out. If you plan to order it through the Internet, then try the product at a friend's place or a golf range first, if that is possible. These golf trainers can thus help you to improve your swing and your putting techniques and this could translate into improved scores.

Perhaps the title of this should be "get the 'Right Grip' and that means get one that is specifically correct for you.
You can't expect the grip on your golf club to be the optimum size for both you and someone else with bigger or smaller hands.
How can the grip on the golf clubs of a large man be the right size for both him and that tiny lady playing alongside him?
What is right for her will probably be too small for him and a grip that is too small will make him tend to hold the club too tightly. This can create a problem with the swing. Just changing the grip to a bigger one can alter a game dramatically.
Your hands are your link to the golf clubs and everything that goes on below that point. Your contact point with the clubs needs to be correct if you expect to play well.
Manufacturers offer a standard size to suit the majority of buyers, however, you need to go one step further and find a grip that will allow you to control the club comfortably without having to hold it so hard that your game suffers.
Get grips for your clubs that are not only suited in size but also in the type of materials used as this can determine how tightly you will hold them.
In addition to this, you need to warm up your wrists before play to ensure they are relaxed and ready for action. Performing a few simple warm up exercises of rolling your wrist while holding your club lightly will help to reduce the possibility of injury.
Get a grip - and have fun on the golf course.

Christmas Gifts for Golfers
Golf accessories make a wonderful gift for the golfer in your family or among your friends. There are so many different golf-related items that you can buy, it is never possible for somebody to have them all! This list will give you a sure way to provide something that will bring a smile to his face.
Of course, most golfers do have the basic equipment that they need, including clubs, golf shoes and a golf bag. You may have noticed that they often buy new clubs, even when you think they must have enough - but they will want to choose these themselves. So unless they tell you exactly which club to buy, it is best to think again.
Golfers are constantly needing more balls and tees so for a small gift, you might choose those. However, for something a little more imaginative, consult our list below.
1. Umbrella. Although he probably has a golf umbrella already, if you look closely at it some time you will probably find that it is torn or broken in some way, so you can get him a new one. He will probably appreciate a new umbrella that looks a lot like the one he has now.
2. Specialized golf gloves. These are a good gift if his current gloves are worn out. He may be very attached to them and take a while to get around to adopting the new ones, but worn gloves do not give such a good grip so you can be pretty sure he will switch soon.
3. Pinseeker (also called a scope or rangefinder). Point this gadget at the flag and it tells you the distance to the hole from where you are standing. This is useful for deciding which club to pick.
4. Digital scorekeeper - a special calculator for recording scores of up to 4 players as they go around the course.
5. A putting practice mat. These are for use in the house and they are very popular because they replicate the surface of the golf course much better than most floors or carpets.
6. If the golfer has a large backyard where he can practice, a chip and drive mat protects the lawn from damage and a driving net will catch the balls.
7. A ball dispenser or shagger. This speeds up practice sessions by dispensing balls.
8. Wristbands and elbow trainers. The aim of these is to develop strength in the right muscles for a cleaner, stronger swing.
9. Golf books. Many golfers love these, but it can be a mistake to give a book about improving the swing or other aspects of play unless you know that he wants it. Biographies of players that he admires can be a better choice, or the history of a famous course. Most golfers enjoy humorous golf books too.
10. DVDs of classic golf tournaments such as the Open. For older golfers, choose a DVD of a tournament from the 70s or 80s that they will remember, especially if the winner was a great player that they admired.
You can buy many golf accessories at your local golf course store but remember that nothing there will be new to him. It is often better to look for gifts online where you will find a much wider range of golf accessories.
Enter your search information in the Amazon search box and find the perfect Christmas gift for your golfer.
Merry Christmas
